Robert John Sparling of Federal Way, Washington, died June 15, 2005.  He was 89.  He had lived in south King County the past eight years.

He was a salesman of basic vegetable products for 25 years and retired in 1971.  He enjoyed bridge, golf, travel, and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Beth, in 1997.  He is survived by his daughters, Suzan Sparling of Hawaii, Sally Sparling of Portland, Oregon, MaryEllen Ferring of Phoenix, and Ann Gray of Maple Valley; and six grandchildren.
