Paul Macy

May 4, 1926 - May 27, 1999

Paul Edwin Macy, of North Hills, California, passed away at age 72. He was a long-time resident and businessman in South Pasadena. He attended local schools before enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1944.

He served in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1947. Mr Macy earned his high school diploma at the California Institute of Technology, and joined his father, Edwin I Macy, in the photography business. For more than 50 years, Macy's Photo Shop served local residents on Fair Oaks Avenue.

Paul Macy served as a reserve with the South Pasadena Police Department for several years. He was also an active member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and the South Pasadena Kiwanis organization. Mr Macy retired 15 years ago and moved to the San Fernando Valley to breed and train racing pigeons.

He is survived by his wife Kathy; sons Greg '69, of Riverside, Jim '71, of Long Beach, and Mike '81, of Huntington Beach; daughter Kathy, of San Jose; their mother Pat Macy, of South Pasadena; and six grandchildren.
