Patricia Holloway (Kennedy) - Class Of 1959 VIEW PROFILE

Patricia Holloway (Kennedy)

Longtime Alaska resident Patricia Lee Holloway Kennedy, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2017, at Providence Alaska Medical Center, surrounded by her beloved family. Pat was born on August 7, 1940 in Los Angeles. Her parents were William and Dorothy Holloway. She graduated from South Pasadena High School in 1959. She met and married the father of her children, Wesley M Kennedy, Jr (SPHS '53) later that year.

Pat and her family moved up to Soldotna, Alaska in June 1968 where they lived until moving to Sterling, Alaska, and then eventually back to Soldotna. Her last years were located in Anchorage so she "could help raise the grandkids up there." Definitely her most cherished treasures were her seven grandchildren.

Throughout her life and particularly in retirement, she loved going to watch her kids and grandkids play sports, while always being their biggest fan. Her voice was distinct and always supportive, not only to her own kids, but also to all of the teammates and other kids that she knew, loved, and encouraged. "Grandma Pat," as she was called, will certainly be missed at the ball fields and at courtside. A most precious moment in her life was reuniting with her biological sister, Betty Wiand and her family, after 65 years of being separated. Spending time with Betty and her family members was a very special time for her.

Pat is survived by her four children and their families:  son, John and wife Lin Kennedy of Soldotna; son, Rick and wife Yvonne Kennedy of Soldotna; son, Scott Kennedy of Anchorage; and daughter Erin and husband Bob Andresen also of Anchorage; and seven grandchildren.

Her parents, sisters, Barbara Holloway Dehnen (SPHS '56) and Betty Wiand, preceded her in death.
