Helen McColgan (Normington) - Class Of 1945

Helen McColgan Normington, 89, of San Dimas passed away October 17, 2016. She was born October 17, 1927 in Los Angeles to Hugh and Katherine McColgan. She attended South Pasadena High School, then graduated from Ramona Convent High School. Helen also attended Pasadena City College and Mount San Antonio College. In 1951 she married Richard Normington and they lived in Duarte for six years prior to moving to San Dimas, where they resided for 59 years.

Helen was employed by Advanco Construction, working in the accounting department. She also worked ten years at the Los Angeles County Fair. She and her husband operated an independent nursery in San Dimas for over 50 years. She was a member of the Damien High School Booster Club, the St Vincent de Paul Society, St Monica's Guild, and the Pomona Valley Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Helen was preceded in death by Richard, her husband of 63 years and her sisters Ann and Cathie. She is survived by her five sons:  Jim Normington of La Verne, John Normington of La Verne, Ken (Susan) Normington of Diamond Bar, Bob Normington of Broomfield, Colorado, and Ted (Stefanie) Normington of Azusa; and five grandchildren.
