He went on to earn an MBA from Harvard Business School before starting his career in Marketing at P&G. Bruce joined Dow Chemical in 1960 in Consumer Goods marketing before moving to Inorganic Chemicals. He moved into finance with Dow and ended his career as Assistant Treasurer. He served on a number of boards while at Dow and after his retirement continued to give generously of his time and talent serving on many boards for charitable organizations including Salvation Army, Boy Scouts, and United Way. He served on the board and as deacon for Memorial Presbyterian Church where he and Evie attended for almost 60 years.

Bruce and Evie loved to travel all over the world. Bruce was always up for any adventure. They also enjoyed sailing, camping, and their lake cottage. Bruce was much loved and will be dearly missed by Evie and their children:  Jim (Suzy), Paul (Mary), and Tom as well as four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
