Teddy Marie Nafius

Teddy Nafius

July 17, 1945 - May 29, 2022

After high school Teddy went to Cal State Los Angeles, graduating with a degree in English. She started substitute teaching in South Pasadena at the various elementary schools. Because of her health problems, teaching was not to be. She would manage the family business until we sold the business (HN Printing on Fremont Avenue).

Our family had always been active in Scouting. Teddy became a key fundraiser for the LA Boy Scouts of America as well as helping start many scout troops in underserved communities. She remained active in scouting until her death. The large turnout by former scouts and leaders at her memorial service was a testament to the many lives she touched.

Teddy was always active in politics and made an unsuccessful candidate for a South Pasadena City Council seat. Besides politics, she was the family historian, putting together our family genealogy.

Teddy dealt with many health issues throughout her life. She faced these challenges with grace and dignity. She never let this slow her down, she was determined to maintain her independence. She never married and always said her scouts were her kids.
