Richard T Andresen

June 14, 1932 - January 23, 2007

Dick and I joined the Navy on July 5, 1950 and went to Navy boot camp in San Diego together and then on to 'Airman' school in Memphis, Tennessee, making the trip to Memphis by train.  Airman School completed just before Christmas 1950 and after a short leave, Dick and I were separated, each going on to different advanced training schools.  Dick went to Aviation Mechanic's school in Jacksonville, Florida, and I to the Aviation Electronics school, still in Memphis.  Dick deployed after a few months to combat in Korea aboard the aircraft carrier 'Oriskany'. 

I did see Dick twice after Memphis.  The first time when he was an usher in my wedding in 1954 and the last time we were together was during the Class of 1950's - 50th Reunion in 2000.  Many class members were gathered at Joan & Bob Garrett's home in San Marino and Dick and I did get to cover some of the many years that passed in between.
