Cy Brainard

Ceylon H 'Cy' Brainard died in Vancouver, Washingon on January 17 at age 83. He was born November 27, 1914 in Los Angeles. He graduated from Washington State College. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps; he was wounded in the South Pacific and received the Purple Heart.

Cy settled in Southern California, where he worked in various businesses before retiring in 1979 and moving to Washinton. Surivors include his sons, Peter of Portland, Oregon, Ceylon of Redlands, California, Nick of Shelton, Washington; daughter Becky of Crediton, England; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie who died in October 1997.
