Genevieve Ocheltree (Blaisdell)

Mrs Genevieve Ocheltree Blaisdell, active for many years in Republican Party affairs on the local and state levels and in club work in the Pasadena area, died May 18, 1958 in Huntington Memorial Hospital after an illness of six days.

Surviving Mrs. Blaisdell are her husband, Dr. Paul C. Blaisdell, 507 Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Shelton, and Mrs. James D. Eddy, both of Pasadena; three sisters, Mrs. Ray L. Avery of Carmel, Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Carmel, and Mrs. Eleanor Marino (SPHS '22) of Berkeley; and nine grandchildren.

Mrs. Blaisdell was born in Riverside, October 7, 1897, and attended South Pasadena High School where she was a member of the debate team and active in sports, music, and drama groups.  She had advanced musical training in Italy and for a year or two after her return from Europe, sang on radio.

For several years she was active in work of Altadena women's clubs and was a past president of San Gabriel Valley Women's Republican Club and in 1956/57 was president of the California State Medical Auxillary.  She was also a past chairman of the Pasadena branch of the Women's Auxillary.
