Clarabel Dougan (Baker-Quiggen)

Clarabel "Dood" Dougan Baker-Quiggen passed away May 25, 2003.  Dood was born April 2, 1916 in Alhambra, California.  She was the youngest child of Alvah and Del Louise Dougan, with two sisters, Mary Lou and Rada, and two brothers Paul and Walter.  Dood grew up in the Pasadena area graduating from South Pasadena High School in 1934 and Occidental College in 1939.

She married her high school sweetheart, Jack Baker (SPHS '34), in 1940.  She had two sons, John and David.  While married to Jack, she and her family lived in the Hastings Ranch area of Pasadena for many years before moving to Mexico City for five years.  On their return, they lived in San Marino for several years before moving to Houston for 10 years.  When they moved back from Houston, they bought a house by the beach.  Jack and Dood celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1990.  Jack passed away in 1993.

She married Frank Quiggin in late 1994.  Dood was 87 and a resident of Monarch Bay for over 20 years.  Dood always surrounded herself with friends and family whether she was in Pasadena, Mexico City, Houston, or elsewhere.

She is survived by her two sons, David and John, and her grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, and Adrienne.
