Marjorie Doig (Snedecor)

Marjorie Doig Snedecor was born on April 11, 1917 in Pasadena, California and passed away on November 8, 2005, in Corona, California.

Marj was a widow; she married Bob Snedecor on June 17, 1939 in Pasadena.  Her parents were William Leslie Doig and Marian Bach Thomas.  Marj and Bob had three children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. 

Their son, Bill, lives in Wickenburg, Arizona with his wife Roberta.  Bill has four children, Janet, Mark, Stuart, and Christine.  Janet Parker lives in Seattle, Washington with her spouse, Greg.  Mark lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife, Jennie and their three boys.  Stuart and his wife, Ruth, also live in Phoenix.  Christine lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Marj and Bob's daughter, Ginny Clark, lives in Long Beach, California with her husband, Bill and daughter.  Susie Lockhart, lives in Lake Havasu City, Arizona with her spouse, Brett.

Marjorie grew up in the Pasadena, CA area and attended the local public schools.  She attended Occidental College and received a BA in Education.  She was a second grade school teacher at Lincoln Elementary School, Corona, California for one year and then a substitute teacher for twelve years in the Corona School District.

Marj lived in Corona from 1939 - 66 years and was a wonderful community volunteer.  She was a member and past president of the Corona Woman's Improvement Club of Corona and ran the banquet dinners.  She also was a member of the Congregational Church, Corona Library, Peppermint Ridge, and various bridge clubs.  When she moved to Crown Pointe in 1999 she ran the bingo games two nights a week.  Marjorie was named "Woman of the Year" by the Corona Chamber of Commerce.

Marjorie was an exceptional woman and a great mother and friend.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
