Herbert Greenwood Porter, 87, of San Diego died April 23, 2005.  He was born August 21, 1917, in Pasadena and was a vice president for Bekins Van Lines.  He was a member of Rancho Bernardo Presbyterian Church and the Rancho Bernardo Tennis Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Porter of Rancho Bernardo; daughters, Carol Eicher (SPHS '72) of Paso Robles and Susan Kost of Bellevue, Washington; sons, Larry Porter (SPHS '66) of Monte Rio, Mickey Porter (SPHS '69) of La Habra, and Jim Jenik of Rancho Bernardo; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
