Lee H Peterson

Lee Petersonlongtime South Pasadena resident, passed away at his home in South Pasadena on July 26, 2006.  Lee was born February 22, 1925 in Los Angeles, California.  His family moved to South Pasadena in 1933.

Lee attended local schools and graduated from SPSMHS in 1943.  He was in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945; worked at the Texaco gasoline station briefly, then Van de Kamp Bakery before joining the staff at the South Pasadena Post Office in 1950.  Lee retired from the Post Office in 1988, and was well known for sitting in his window on Monterey Road and waving to all who went by.

Lee was predeceased by his first wife and a son.  He is survived by his wife, Betty, daughter, Marilee Peterson Chappell and his sister Alta Peterson Kelley of Sacramento.
