Stephen Ray "Steve" Lanzit - Class Of 1949

Stephen Ray Steve Lanzit

Steve Lanzit, a resident of New Canaan and a former resident of Darien, died at his home on November 2, 2008. Born on November 13, 1931 in Los Angeles, he was the son of the late Harriet and Ray Lanzit. He was 76.

Mr. Lanzit served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from UCLA in the school of business. He was an investment broker before retiring. His favorite past time was duplicate bridge for which he earned the American Contract Bridge League Life Master Certificate for outstanding achievement in bridge competition.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; a son, Rusty, and his wife, Anne from Chaplin; a daughter, Tori Lanzit of Fairfax, Virginia; and two grandchildren, Stephen Lanzit III and Taylor Lanzit. He is also survived by a sister, Sue Lanzit Phelan (SPHS '51), and her family of Moraga, California.
