Andrew Olsen  '49  passed away at home on July 9, 2003 following a long battle with cancer.  A retired pastor, he lived at Brooktrails in Willits, CA and traveled from there each Sunday to conduct services in Fort Bragg.

Rev. Andy was a delightful, inspiring man who devoted his life to his work and to his family.  Unfortunately, he was stricken with cancer and he went through many trials of treatment in the Bay Area.  There were times he was better, and then another obstacle would occur.  He was always positive and hopeful.

Besides his involvement in Fort Bragg, he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ukiah.  After his retirement and moving to Willits, he resumed a ministry to Parlin Fork on Highway 20 for the inmates there.  A caring person, he and his wife Ardis had adopted five multi-racial children when they were young and dedicated their lives to raising them.

A memorial was held in Ukiah at Grace Lutheran, attended by many whose lives he had touched.
