Judith C 'Judy' Jontz (Morris) - Class Of 1963

Judith C 'Judy' Jontz (Morris)

Judy Jontz Morris died October 6, 1999 at age 54 of amyloidosis.  At the time of her death she was living in Diamond Bar, California.  She is survived by her husband, Michael F. Morris; sons, Stephen, Ian, and Brad Morris; brother and sister-in-law Dave (SPHS '58) and Carolyn Jontz, and nephews James (SPHS '92) and Kevin (SPHS '97) Jontz.

Judy graduated from William Penn College in Oskaloosa, Iowa in 1967.  She worked for awhile in Iowa City before moving back to California in 1968.  She met her husband, Mike, while singing in the All Saints Episcopal Church choir in Pasadena.  They were married in 1970.

Mike and Judy lived in various places due to Mike's work; Indianapolis, Indiana, Nashville, Tennessee, Ignacio, CA and Diamond Bar, CA for the 18 years prior to her death.  Amyloidosis is a very very rare blood disease, and there are very few medicines that can treat it.  For the last several years, she was going to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for treatments and tests.

Judy is very much missed by her friends and family.  She was cremated and her ashes are interred at St. James Episcopal Church in South Pasadena along with her parent's ashes.

Dave Jontz, SPHS '58, Judy's brother

Mimi Hennessy (1963)

Judy and I were in the same Camp Fire group and did many things together. Although we did not stay in touch I remember her fondly and am sorry not to have known her as an adult.

I have a memory of Judy driving around in her little pink jeep. She was so friendly and kind to all and I have fond memories of her. Love, Linda Johnson Hernandez
