Bill, born August 21, 1947 in Illinois moved with his family to South Pasadena in the 9th grade.  Living in South Pasadena, he had been employed with the Los Angeles County Flood Control for three years at the time of his death on September 23, 1972.  Death was due to a pedestrian/train accident in Rosemead, California.

Bill was 25 years old and is survived by his parents, John and Virginia Hayes of South Pasadena; and his sister, Patricia Hayes Campbell (SPHS '63).
