Becky and i became friends when she joined our class at SPJHS after her dad retired from the Navy and her family moved to SoPas from Japan. She was brilliant, cultured, a loyal friend and a wonderful daughter. Becky edited our Copa de Oro senior year. She started off at Scripps with me but then transferred to USC. Nevertheless, she kept in touch and we continued our friendship through all her years of doctoral training, sojourns at Cambridge and teaching assignments at Ca States LA and Long Beach as well as USC.
Becky "womaned" the guest book at my wedding and dearly loved keeping me up-to-date on our SPHS classmates. She especially loved every reunion as it came along.
Most of all, Becky loved the Anaheim/California Angels, attending every game she could and always filling me in on the latest news of her beloved team, whether I wanted to hear it or not! Of the Becky-Betty-Betsy-Vicki-Debbie-Tweetie-Ella (and senior year, Heidi) crowd, she was our rock and our post-graduation link. I will miss her always.
