Robert Coulter passed away on September 1, 1981.  He was retired from the 3M Company in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he was a patent counsel from 1937-1967.  During that time he obtained the patent on Scotch tape and masking and surgical tapes.  He was a director of the Gen'l Church of the New Jerusalem and one of the founders of the Midwestern Academy of the New Church in Glenview, Illinois.  When retired, he lived in Laguna, California.
