Joyce Elaine Mansfield (Stewart)

Joyce Elaine Stewart (February 14, 1916 - December 28, 2011).  One of three daughters, Joyce was born on Valentine's Day in 1916 in Moline, Illinois.  In 1923 her family moved to Southern California where she remained until moving to Olympia, Washington in 2001.

With her husband, James R. Dodds, Joyce raised her three children, Gary Dodds (Grass Valley, California), Carol Stewart (Olympia, Washington), and Sandy Cundiff (Olympia, WA).  Following the death of James, Joyce married Charles Stewart.

Joyce has eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  An accomplished artist, Joyce worked as an inker for Walt Disney and Hanna-Barbera Studios.  She worked for the City of Pasadena as a landscape designer.  Joyce lived her  last few years at The Hampton in Tumwater, Washington where she exercised her "green thumb" with fellow gardeners in the Hampton Garden Club.
