Ruth Mushrush Shirley, born May 9, 1924, died of congestive heart failure in Hemet, California on August 15, 2013.  She was 89 years old.

Ruth grew up in South Pasadena, raised her sons in South Pas, and continued to live there until 1992 when she and her husband moved to Idyllwild, California.  She was a Registered Dietitian and wrote a nutrition advice column for the Pasadena Star-News for many years in the 1960s and 70s. Ruth was a member of the First Advent Christian Church of Pasadena for many years and loved serving her Lord Jesus in teaching Sunday school and leading Women's Bible studies.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Ralph Shirley '68, Dwight Shirley '70, and Keith Shirley '74; and her sister, Edith Mushrush Circle '49
