John Williams McCorkle, 49, died May 17, 2002, in Colorado Springs.  He was a native of Colorado; born in Pueblo on November 7, 1952 to Nesbit and Muriel (Williams) McCorkle, and moved to Colorado Springs in 1985.

He was an Associate Nuclear Engineer with Kaman Sciences and had served in the Marine Corps.  Mr. McCorkle married Barbara "Barb" (Lacy) on May 13, 1989, who survives.  He is also survived by children Christian M. McCorkle, Alex M. McCorkle, Breanne Standingwater, Jennifer Saultz, and Brian Rugg; grandchildren, Lauren and Adam; a brother Kent McCorkle (SPHS '68); nieces and nephew, and cousin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judy Pitcher.
