Gay, living in Laguna Beach, died at age 70, of cancer. She is survived by her daughter, Paloma; and sister, Mimi Hennessy '63.

Gay graduated from Scripps College in Fine Arts and Art History and received her masters at Claremont Graduate School. She taught school, worked as a reading specialist and program evaluator, and then went to San Francisco. She was married and divorced, traveled and camped all over the west, owned a horse, skied, scuba dived, backpacked and traveled extensively. She was adventurous and opened her heart and her palette to new experiences. She eventually took over her father's film business where she won awards, traveled all over the world and became the President of IQ, the International Quorum of Film Producers. After adopting her daughter she becomes associate director of Sequoyah School, and then director of Teachers on Reserve, a company she bought and grew to serve all of metro California. Together with her sister she bought her dream home in Laguna where she planned to enjoy a well-earned retirement doing art, traveling, and enjoying sunsets and martinis. She was a wonderful mother and sister and friend and is deeply missed.
