Charlie Johnson

June 22, 1945 - June 25, 2022

Charlie and his wife, Terry, moved to Phelan, California in 1992. Charlie's passion in life was advocating for the community and in working to make it an even better place to live. In addition to his role on the District's Board of Directors, he was a business owner, a role model, and a leader in several other community service organizations where he built lasting relationships and will always be remembered.

In the 30 years that he lived in Phelan, he served on committees, boards and focus groups, many of which helped shape the future of the community. He was a founding member of the Tri-community Kiwanis, instrumental in the formation of the Phelan Pinon Hills Community Services District in 2008 and served as a PPHCSD Board Director for the majority of the 14 years the PPHCSD has been in existence.

Charlie was also passionate about youth soccer. He spent over 40 years as a volunteer for AYSO. He was a National Coach, National Referee, and held positions as an Area Director where he oversaw ten regions. He was also an AYSO United High Desert Communities Club Administrator for three years and most recently the Section 10 Management Administrator and advanced coach, referee and management instructor.

Charlie is survived by his wife Terry, his children, and grandchildren.
