In Memory

Maria Gallegos (Lindsey) - Class Of 1980

Maria Gallegos (Lindsey)

Maria was born March 16, 1962 in Los Angeles to Mexican immigrants from Chihuahua, Francisco Gallegos Lopez and Alicia Gallegos Chavira. She suffered the loss of her mother less than two years after her birth. Her father soon remarried and Maria was raised by him along with her new mother, Nancy Gallegos Kelemen.

Maria attended and graduated from South Pasadena High School. In 1983 she met and married William Lindsey and together they raised their three sons, Brian, Robert, and Connor. Maria achieved a successful commercial acting career throughout the 80s attributed to her good looks, charismatic smile, and bilingual capabilities. She made an impression on all who knew her. She had a way of making others feel comfortable in her presence and it is not surprising that many were drawn to her.

She adored her three boys and was always so proud of their accomplishments and who they had become. She celebrated her son Brian's wedding in 2016 and was anxiously awaiting the birth of her first grandson. Maria passed away August 30, 2017; she is loved by her family and her loss will be greatly felt. However, we will keep her alive through the great memories we shared with her and her laugh.

Maria will join her parents and her beloved brother, Pablo Gallegos (SPHS '78) in heaven. She is survived by her three sons:  Brian, Robert and Connor, as well as her four siblings:  Elena, Nancy (SPHS '83), Marisa, and Javier. May her soul rest in peace.

Taken way too soon...

Maria was a dear, dear friend who lit up a room with her stunning beauty and vibrant personality. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a laugh that will resonate always in the hearts of those who knew her. It was impossible not to be cheerful in her presence.

Maria was a woman of faith who loved the Lord, her family and friends wholeheartedly. She devoted her life to her three remarkable sons and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild. While her passing was sudden and heartbreaking, her beautiful legacy lives on through them.

Until we meet again sweet friend...
