Gilbert I Bernal

Gilbert Bernal III, a 1995 graduate of South Pasadena High School, passed away on December 27, 2010 surrounded by his family and loved ones after sustaining injuries due to an accident.  He is survived by his father Gilbert Bernal Jr., his mother Armida Viscarra Bernal, his sister Lisette, his brother Dylan, his grandparents Baudelio Vizcarra, Gilbert Bernal Sr., Harriet Daniels Bernal, and his daughter Scarlett.  He will lovingly be remembered by his girlfriend Susanna Dashnakyan and his large extended family.

As a teenager, Gilbert worked locally at Papa Don's Delicatessen.  He was well known for his quick wit and fun loving spirit.  After graduating from high school he worked in electronics, built custom bikes, and eventually was hired to oversee visual mechandising for Robinsons-May and Macy's department stores.  He set up visual displays for various store sites throughout Southern California.

Gilbert resided in Portland, Oregon and San Diego before recently returning to the Los Angeles area.  Gilbert was an avid golfer and swimmer but his greatest joy was that of being the father to his daughter Scarlett Alexis.  Gilbert will be remembered by his family and friends as a courageous, creative, and loving individual.  They say his sweetness and generosity of heart will be greatly missed.
