Edwin 'Bill' Fenstemaker died June 3, 2014 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Born September 8, 1926 in Lawrence, Kansas, he was the son of Wilbur Edwin and Mary Jane Dyer Fenstemaker.

Bill was a licensed ham operator for a number of years and enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a police officer for the University of Kansas for 43 years. He married Roberta Mae Ice in 1947; she preceded him in death in 2003.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Robert) Hodson and Nancy (Thomas) Ruff, both of Lawrence; and one son, William (Sun) Fenstemaker of South Korea; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
