Roy Fetterman - Class Of 1962 VIEW PROFILE

Roy Fetterman

Roy A. Fetterman was the gentleman cowboy.  A lifelong interest in horses lead to professional and recreational equestrian activities including support for the Tanner-Fetterman Appaloosa horse group in the Pasadena Rose Parade.

After stints in Glenville and Bishop, California, Roy and Elaine settled in Clovis, near Fresno.  Roy was the Mac Tools distributor in Clovis until his retirement in 2008.  Always interested in cars, Roy regularly built or modified his ground transportation.  Elaine insisted that at least one car remain stock so they would have something to drive.  Roy was a great talker and always had a joke to lighten the mood.  He will be missed.

Roy died in Clovis on January 13, 2010.  Cause of death was West Nile Virus.  He is survived by his wife Elaine, and sister Shelley Fetterman Witzman (SPHS '66).

I remember Roy as a kind, unassuming, decent guy who loved mechanical things.  Roy was my best friend in high school.  We dated and hung out for two years.  Roy introduced me to his model “T”, horses (particularly his dad’s horse Dynamite), bowling, his ’57 Chevy, the “drags,” and Van Webster (GVOWIV).  He and his friends formed my best memories of high school.  I’m so sorry I did not act years ago when I found myself wondering where he was, what he was doing, and whether he and Van were still fast friends.
