Jane W Bruhn (Dull) - Class Of 1944

Jane Winifred Bruhn Dull (February 17, 1926 - October 10, 2018) died at St Vincent's Hospital in Portland, Oregon. She nourished the people around her with love, generosity and an all-encompassing positive outlook.

Jane was born in Berkeley, California to August and Mae Bruhn but later moved to South Pasadena where she grew up in a happy household with her older brother August and sister Phyllis. She graduated from Pomona College with a degree in English and worked for the Times Mirror in Los Angeles until she married John S Dull in March 1956. They had three children.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Ellen, and her son, James, but was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Anne, and her husband Jack. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Bruhn Staple (SPHS '42) as well as her nieces and nephews including Susan King Hess (SPHS '77) and Paul King (SPHS '79). In addition, she is survived by two grandchildren.

Jane's life was very much centered around her family and she was a great supporter of her grandchildren in their sports, school activities, and college aspirations. She was excellent company. She had a wonderful disposition and a great sense of humor. She was an intelligent, attentive, and loving friend who cared very deeply about the people in her life. If you counted Jane among your friends, you were truly blessed.
