Patricia O'Donnell (Stone)

Pat O'Donnell Stone

October 4, 1945 - May 24, 2024

Pat died in Grand Junction, Colorado, after an eight year battle with multiple myeloma. Born in Connecticut and moved to South Pasadena the summer before her junior year of high school when her dad was transferred to Los Angeles for business.

After graduation, she continued her education at the University of California, Riverside, earning a BA in French and a teaching credential. It was at The Tartan by UCR that Pat met her first husband, Roger Stone. They were married in June 1968, resided in Corona, California and welcomed their son David into the world in February 1972. Pat spent her time being a mom while being involved playing competitive soccer, refereeing recreational soccer, Boy Scouts, and substitute teaching. She later moved into full-time teaching, primarily 3rd and 6th grades, and obtained her Master's degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University. Pat was an avid camper, hiker, and fisherman as well as a quilter and knitting fanatic.

The call of Colorado was a long standing desire of Pat's. She and her partner Denny Brannon began building their dream home in Lake City, Colorado in the early 2000s and moved there after her retirement from teaching. Pat and Denny became involved in the Lake City community, Friends of the Library, zumba, church, and testing the local waters for the state. After her cancer diagnosis, she split her time between Lake City and Montrose, Colorado where she received her health care.

Pat is survived by her son, David Stone; the love of her life Denny Brannon; her sisters Jackie O'Donnell '67 and Sally O'Donnell Schultzman '73 as well as grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
