Joe Iberri
September 30, 1943 - November 21, 2023
Born to Henry and Ethel Iberri, Joe grew up in Southern California with his sisters Beverly and Dottie '59. Joe attended South Pasadena High, graduated class of 1962 and became active in alumni activities and class reunions over the years. He enjoyed the music scene in California during the 1960s and supported bands like Peter Tosh, one of the core members of the Wailers with Bob Marley.
Joe became a professional painter, married Marsha and raised their daughter, Vanessa born in May of 1969. Sadly Vanessa was brutally murdered while picnicking at Lake Elsinore. Joe spent decades of his life pursuing justice for Vanessa. Even though the murderer was convicted to the death penalty in 1983, he languished on San Quentin's death row until he died there in 2009.
Joe was always the life of the party and very enthusiastically collected Indian artifacts. His closest companion for many years was Geronimo, the Wonder Dog, a brilliant Australian Shepard impeccably trained by Joe.
Joe is survived by his loving cousins Lynne Highfill, Jeff Piche and Jerry Piche and will be laid to rest with his daughter Vanessa.

Joe was such an energetic and fun guy. He came up to the Bay area a few times. We had a glorious day hiking around Bolinas. He was so enthusiastic about his artifacts and their history. My condolences to his family. I will miss him.
