Genevieve Sweetser Price

December 31, 1902 - September 5, 1988

Genevieve Price passed away in Moraga, California. She was born in Los Angeles, raised in South Pasadena and was a member of a California pioneer family. Her grandfather, Edwin Sutherland, boarded a vessel in New York, sailed 'around the Horn' and landed in San Francisco in 1850.

Mrs Price was an alumna of Mills College and a member of Mills College faculty for many years in the music department. She was a concert singer, accomplished pianist, voice coach, lecturer, free lance writer, world traveler, and teacher at UCLA where she directed workshops in musical theatre for 17 years until her retirement in 1976.

She is survived by her son, Curtis Sutherland Wood of Moraga and her loving grandchildren.
