Frances Ryan (Gloyn)

Frances Ryan Gloyn, Class of 1923, died July 22, 2000, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.  She was 94.

In 1930 she married Cyril Gloyn in South Pasadena and after living in New York and Oregon, they returned to South Pasadena where they lived for more than 50 years.

Frances worked as a teacher and attorney.  She particularly enjoyed her time with the Los Angeles School District teaching English as a Second Language mostly to older students.  She had a strong interest in politics and current affairs and was active in the League of Women Voters.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 70 years, Dr. Cyril K. Gloyn, and her son Robert (Ellen), of Salt Lake City; her daughter Eleanor (Bernard) Siegel of Pasadena, California; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.  She will be missed by family and friends.
