Joseph Yule

February 5, 1907 - February 4, 1981

 

Joseph Martin Yule of 432 Oaklawn passed away at his home on February 4. He was 73 and a resident of South Pasadena for 63 years.

Mr Yule move to South Pasadena from Ohio with his parents in 1918, lived on Fremont Avenue and attended El Centro School and South Pasdena High School. Very sportsminded, he played linebacker on the football team.

A community leader in youth activities, he was assistant scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 342 and also served as camp director, served as the Tiger Booster president for 2 1/2 years, and instituted the Bar-b-que in the Arroyo to benefit other sports.

Mr Yule also was a past member of Alhambra Masonic Lodge, a past patron of Eastern Star of Alhambra, a past president of the Exchange Club, and a past president of Almansor Golf Club.

Mr Yule is survived by his widow, Theora Yule of South Pasadena; a daughter, Patricia (SPHS '61); a son, Dr Phil Yule (SPHS '64), and by two granddaughters, Erin (SPHS '92) and Amy. Joe will be greatly missed by everyone.
