Dorothy Deiss (Mulvey)

In Loving Memory of Dorothy "Dory" Deiss Mulvey 1907 - 2006 Long time resident of Chapman Woods, Dory, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2006. Born on November 9, 1907 in Chicago, Illinois, she moved with her parents and sister Elizabeth (SPHS '20) to Hollywood in 1910 and then to South Pasadena. Dory attended South Pasadena High School and UCLA before joining the workforce at Security First National Bank, where she met the love of her life, Frank.

Forever the volunteer, she gave her time to her family and friends, Sts. Felicitas and Perpetua Parish and School, over 30 years to St. Luke-3/8s Hospital, and an additional 30 years to the American Red Cross. She is also well-known as a Lifetime Master Bridge Player. Her final game was played in her home Monday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, their son, Christopher, her parents, and her sister. Her memory will be treasured by her daughters: Fran (and Bill) Singley, Mary Beth (and Walt) Buck, and Cathy (and Tony) Johansing; her grandchildren: Stacey Buck Morris, Heather Buck-McGough, Steve Buck, and Mike Buck, as well as Geoff Johansing, Jenner Rasic, Amy Wooler, Molly, Brian, Gregory, Karen and Christopher Johansing, and her ten great-grand children.
