Alice Louise Lowen - Class Of 1929

Alice Louise Lowen, passed away peacefully July 4, 2006, Alhambra, California. Alice Louise was born to Archer Hamilton Lowen and Edna Stovall Lowen on March 2, 1912 in Pasadena, California. She attended schools in South Pasadena, graduating from Pasadena Jr. Coll ege. She received her B. A. at UCLA in 1933 and masters in math at University of California, Berkeley in 1934. She was employed briefly by Occidental Insurance Company. She worked for the Carnegie Institute of Washington D. C. and Mt. Wilson Observatory as a research assistant until her retirement. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of a Pasadena and a lifetime member of AAUW. She is survived by her brother, Bob Lowen (Helen) Salt Lake City, Utah; Nephews, Tom Lowen (Shelly) Bend, Oregon; Steve Lowe n, Scottsdale, Arizona and Niece, Maggie Madsen (Richard), Seattle, Washington; eleven great nieces and nephews and 9 great great nieces and nephews.
