Ronald Karl Johnson

Ronald "Ron" Johnson, South Pasadena High graduate, passed away on March 13, 2007, at his home in Laguna Beach where he has resided since 1968.  Ron was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 30, 1917, to parents Charles and Zoe.

Ron grew up in San Gabriel Valley and graduated with a degree in business administration from the University of Southern California in 1946.  While at USC, he was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi scholastic fraternity and a member of the Blue Key national honor society.  He was also a brother of the Sigma Phi Epsilon social fraternity.

Ron served in the US Army infantry in Europe during World War II where he was commissioned as a First Lieutenant and received citations of the Silver Star and the Purple Heart in combat.

Ron met his loving wife, Suzanne Marie Fornaciari, in San Marino, California where they married on June 29, 1947.  Ron and Suzanne had four children:  Leslie Cuen, Keith Johnson, Suzanne Peterson, and Dana Johnson.  Wife, Suzanne preceded Ron in death in 1983.

Ron was employed in sales of heavy equipment in Southern California until retiring in 1977.  In retirement, Ron was an active member at Laguna Presbyterian church serving as a Deacon and a member of the Stephen Ministry.

Ron is survived by children Leslie, Keith, and Dana.  Grandchildren:  Heidi, Cyrus, and Jesse Waits, Nathan and Brandon Wallis, and Suzanne and Danielle Johnson.  He also is survived by his loving sister Doris Johnson Teeple. '37.
