Sidney "Sid" Harrington - Class Of 1942

Sidney Sid Harrington

Sidney Harrington, fisherman, golfer, educator--but most of all loving husband, father, and grandfather, died suddenly on October 1, 2005, at the age of 80.  He came to Antelope Valley in 1953 to teach Agricultural Sciences at A.V. High School.  He retired from the district as principal of the Adult Ed program in 1986.  An avid fisherman, Sid was always planning his next fishing adventure and enjoyed sharing his passion with friends, family, and strangers.  When not fishing, he was perfecting his backyard crop of tomatoes, corn, and Thompson seedless grapes.

His first wife of 34 years, Sharon, predeceased him.  He is survived by his second wife of 19 years, Mary; his son Kent Harrington and daughters Kristin Dovalina and Cydney Harrington; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  He is also survived by his step-children, Tom, Tim, and Terri Feickert as well as step-grandchildren.  A memorial service was held in Lancaster.
