Stephen R "Pat" Kent - Class Of 1946

Stephen R. "Pat" Kent, 74, passed away August 1, 2002 in his home in Scottsdale, Arizona after a valiant battle with heart disease.  Pat was born in California and spent his younger days in South Pasadena.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and moved to Houston, Texas in the 1960s.  He opened Kent Oil and Trading in the early 1970s.  Pat was involved in the early days of championship auto racing teams and sponsored race cars for a number of years.  An avid hunter, he was a life long member of Ducks Unlimited.

Pat is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; three children, Stephen Kent, Jr. and wife Cathy; Debbie Weir; Laurie Shotwell and husband Doug; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Patricia Weir; Douglas and Kristin Shotwell; and Lindsey Kent; and his faithful dog, Bengi.
