
Edgar Jacobs
May 28, 1906 - March 25, 1956
John Edgar Jacobs, teacher of Mechanical Drawing and Government at the South Pasadena High School, died March 25. Mr Jacobs, who resided at 6979 Ferncroft Avenue, San Gabriel, was a native of South Pasadena. His grandfather, the late John H Jacobs, was a pioneer of South Pasadena, and his father, the late John C Jacobs, was active in civic affairs, having served as South Pasadena City Councilman and Mayor for several terms.
John Edgar Jacobs had been a member of the South Pasadena High School faculty many years. A graduate of South Pasadena High School, he attended the College of the Pacific and Santa Barbara Teachers College.
Surviving Mr Jacobs are his wife, Mrs Peal Slater Jacobs and three children, Marilyn '57, Elaine '58, and Carl Jacobs of San Gabriel; and his mother, Mrs Margaret Jacobs of South Pasadena.
