Madeleine Speik (Lynden) - Class Of 1929

Madeleine Speik Lynden, 64, a resident of San Mateo 20 years, died Sunday, May 15, 1977 at Mills Memorial Hospital after an illness.  She was a native of Illinois and a graduate of Stanford University.

Madeleine had been active in St. Cecelia's Guild of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and in Kappa Alpha Theta activities.  She was permanent vice president of the Stanford Class of 1933.

Survivors include her husband, John R. Lynden, Jr. of San Mateo; three sons, John R. Lynden III and Frederick C. Lynden of Palo Alto, and James C. Lynden of St. Paul, Minnesota; a brother Robert L. Speik (SPHS '46) of Fullerton; two sisters, Betty Blalock (SPHS '41) of Cupertino and Charlotte Speik (SPHS '35) of San Diego; and six grandchildren.
