Jean Louise Boggess, a consummate pianist and cabaret singer who once had her own television show, died December 24, 1992. During her career, she recorded with band leader Charlie Barnett and played with other renowned musicians, such as Doc Severinsen and Terry Clark. Jean Louise was born in Phoenix but lived much of her life in California. She studied formally at UCLA and earned a degree in music and the performing arts. She retired to Long Beach in 1983.

During the height of her career, Jean Louise was a fixture at many Southern California supper clubs, such as the Del Rey, the Five Torches, Alberto's, and the El Dorado. During World War II, she played at the Hollywood USO canteen and modeled as a cover girl for Playbill and key magazines. During the early days of television, she had her own show on Channel 9 in Los Angeles. Her signature song was "My Old Flame." In recent years, she was in demand to play at fashion shows around the southland. She was also an active member of Dramatic Allied Arts Guild and served as its president this year. She is survived by her cousin, Byrd Graddy.
