Helen Dunlap (Hanf) - Class Of 1932

Helen Rosabell Dunlap Hanf, a long-time resident of Redlands and Laguna Niguel, and regular summer visitor to Victor, Idaho, passed away in Duarte January 7, 2020, 28 days short of her 106th birthday. She was a second-generation native Californian, born in Los Angeles February 3, 1914 to Francis and Helena Miller Dunlap, and was named after her mother and grandmother. She was raised in South Pasadena and attended Pomona College, graduating from the University of Southern California.

Helen married Philip Hanf in April 1941, and was the mother of three children. She was an accomplished pianist and singer, and for 65 years worked as an artist, painting in oils, water color and pencil.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother, Gene Dunlap (SPHS '35). She is survived by her children, Philip D Hanf, Mary Helen Monzingo, and Kenneth Hanf; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
