Robert Cullen Edwards - Class Of 1950

Robert Cullen Edwards

Robert Cullen 'Bob' Edwards passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on December 28, 2012.  He was born in South Pasadena, California and grew up a few blocks away from his maternal grandparents.  As a young boy he spent many hours with his grandfather and they enjoyed a special bond together, which Bob cherished throughout his life.

From an early age Bob spent his summers on Catalina Island with his aunt and uncle.  His love of the ocean probably started with his long days at Avalon Beach.  His primary school teacher once commented to his mother Marie that Bob would daydream during class time, and when asked what he was thinking his response was, "I am dreaming of all the places I can go."

Bob had an adventurous nature.  His travels were usually tropical and included Mexico, Hawaii, Australia, the Caribbean and the Philippines.  He enjoyed sailing, boating, water and snow skiing, motorcycle riding, and flying his plane.

In the 1970s, Bob and his family moved to Sandpoint, Idaho.  The last 20 years he lived in the Sunnyside area, where he subdivided his property and created a neighborhood of people who all enjoyed his sense of humor.  Later in life he filled his time reading, staying current on local and foreign events, watching his favorite sport - tennis - on television and keeping up with family and friends.  Bob was blessed to have many friends near and far, all of whom he cared for deeply.

Bob was truly one of a kind.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
