Harold E. "Jack" Jackson died at his home in Dominican Oaks on March 6.  He was 91.

Mr. Jackson attended South Pasadena High School and married his high school sweetheart Lolly in 1939.  He served in the Army and was discharged with the rank of Captain.

Mr. Jackson and his wife settled in California and he worked for Pacific Telephone.  The couple moved to Santa Cruz in 1970.  He was active in civic clubs and is credited with starting the Pop Warner football program in Southern California, his family said.

He was involved with Twin Lakes Church, where he enjoyed preparing the bulletins for the Sunday services.  He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, taking walks on the beach with his wife, and talking with his friends at Dominican Oaks.
