Arden Lanham - Class Of 1931

Arden Lanham, born January 20, 1914, succumbed peacefully to the toll of time on September 26, 2010 in Escondido, California.  Arden was an artist and educator and retired Cypress College art professor.

Honored by the California State Senate for 14 years of distinguished service to students and community, Mr. Lanham entered the teaching profession following an art career that began at Walt Disney Studios, where he was art director on award-winning movies, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  He later was art director for Los Angeles advertising agencies and worked in the U.S. Space Program, winning awards from the Technical Illustration Managers Association and Industry Film Producers Association.  Mr. Lanham served as an officer in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Arden is survived by his widow, Mary Lanham of Escondido; sons John Lanham, Auburn, CA, and Richard Lanham, Long Beach, CA; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
