Patricia A Magee (Broering) - Class Of 1942

Patricia A Magee (Broering)

A kind a gentle soul, Patricia Magee Broering left our world on December 26, 2015 to join her husband Jack and her many friends and relatives in Heaven. Her upbeat attitude and wry smile brought comfort to many in times of joy. Growing up in South Pasadena, she and Jack moved to Balboa Island after World War II.

Through Assistance League, church choir, and other charitable activities, she acquired a large network of friends in the Newport Beach area. They moved their growing family to Corona del Mar in the early 50s where they raised their three children, Gary, Jeff, and Gail. Summers at Little Corona, little league, scouting, choir, weenie bakes at Third Beach; all were the stuff of raising a family in those magical years. As the family grew up and moved on, she and Jack moved to the Dana Point area. Through one of her good friends she became involved in the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach, eventually becoming the casting director for several years.

After retirement, she and Jack split their time between "house sitting" on Oahu and enjoying their home in Monarch Beach. Church activities, walking around Dana Point Harbor, and tending to family and friends occupied her later years. Always willing to pitch in and lend a hand, she was a generous and compassionate person who gave selflessly to those who touched her life. There will be an emptiness in our lives because she is no longer with us.

Besides her children, she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Pat; grandchildren, Aaron, Devon, and Mitchell; and great-grandchildren, Ely and Lilia. She was preceded in death by Jack Broering (SPHS '40), her beloved husband of 68 years.
