Reed B Ringstrom

Reed Burton Ringstrom was born June 13, 1920 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and moved to southern California with his family during childhood.  Reed graduated from South Pasadena High School and Pasadena City College and then moved on to UCLA to continue his education.  He earned a law degree from Western State University of Law in Fullerton.

Reed and his wife Margaret Summers (SPHS '39) were married 57 years.  Together they raised four children:  Ron, Marsha, and twins Robin and Roberta.  They had six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Reed was a World War II US Navy veteran.  He spent most of his career in the citrus industry as the general sales manager for Arlington Heights Citrus in Riverside.  Later he worked in real estate in the Riverside area.  Reed loved his family, his home of 58 years, his cat, tending his citrus trees, fly fishing, playing golf and watching baseball.  He was a faithful member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Riverside.  He was a charter member of the Riverside Uptown Kiwanis Club in 1956, served as President in 1957, and remained active in the club.

Reed was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. George and Edythe; his wife Margaret; his brother Robert (SPHS '42); and his daughter Marsha.  Reed is survived by his son Ron (and Claudia) of Merced and daughters, Robin (and Larry) Lovett of Huntington Beach and Roberta Ringstrom of Colorado Springs.
