Bill Diehl
February 15, 1936 - June 28, 2025
Passed away peacefully at age 89 in his home in Glendora. Born in Los Angeles and raised in San Marino; after serving in the US Army, he spent his career in the property and casualty insurance business. Though he spent his working days in a coat and tie, he much preferred getting his hands dirty with whatever life demanded. He could fix anything.
Bill married Judy Johnson in 1961 and together they raised three sons. He was active in West Arcadia Little League for 12 years. He loved coaching and was a very devoted father. He was also a loving friend who was always willing to help a friend who needed a helping hand or an ear to listen.
In 1990, he purchased a cabin on a lake in North Idaho and turned the cabin into a warm home that would welcome family, friends, and his labrador retrievers for the next 30 years. It was his happy place, and he said being there gave him the "Idaho slows," as life seemed to slow down when he was there. He loved to shoot, hunt, fish, and play golf. And equally loved to laugh, joke, and tell tall tales with a beer or a Manhattan when the fun was over.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Judy; his three sons Brent, Brian, and Michael; seven grandchildren, and his last labrador, Ella.
