Sandra (Sandy) Alles Bode passed away November 11, 2015 with her children Scott and Linda at her side. Cause of death was lung cancer. Sandy was born in Los Angeles on December 27, 1937 and was a long-time resident of San Marino. She attended South Pasadena High School and University of California, Berkeley where she earned a BA in English.

Sandy inherited her mother's love of flowers and plants and shared this gift by volunteering as a docent at The Huntington Library in San Marino. She also inherited her father's love of sailing and exploring the Channel Islands with him and becoming an accomplished sailor herself. Sandy shared her love of the ocean with her children and grandchildren, spending the summers on Lido Island in Newport Harbor.

A natural athlete, Sandy excelled at many sports including tennis and golf where her skills at both sports were legendary. You could find Sandy at The San Gabriel Country Club almost daily either golfing or playing bridge with her friends. Sandy's friends were a great source of joy in her life and would light up when she would talk about her monthly get-togethers with 'The Bridge Club' which was comprised of her close high school friends.

Sandy is survived by her two children, Scott Bode and Linda Bode (Brooks) Merrifield and her three grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, and Katharine Merrifield.
